Mattress Inspection - How To Guide

Step 1 - Clear the Mattress
Remove all bedding from your mattress including sheets, pads and foam toppers. The original top of the mattress needs to be exposed so you can accurately measure the depression. Then, smooth the top of the mattress to eliminate any possible wrinkles in the fabric that could cause the measurements of the sagging to be inaccurate.

Step 2 - Measure the Indentation
Lay a straight line device or a piece of twine across the width of the mattress. To make your own straight line device, tie a washer to the ends of a string to create tension. Once the straight line device is in place, use a standard 12” school ruler to measure the indentation. Place the ruler in the center of the bed, be sure not to rest it in a seam or the tack and jump pattern, and do not press on the ruler, but let it rest naturally on the surface.

Step 3 - Capture Photos
Capture a photo at eye level that clearly shows the measurement of the sagging surface variation that is 0.75 inches or greater, or 1.5” or greater.
Capture a photo of the entire mattress showing the ruler in place with the same measurement.
Capture multiple photos of the surface of the mattress and the law tag, attached to the mattress. Either stains on the mattress or the lack of a law tag will void the warranty.
Submit all photos including the order receipt, the name listed on the order receipt, phone number, order number and current address by email to our Warranty Support Department at support@tyndallfurniture.com.

Step 4 - Manufacturer Approval
Once this inspection report is completed, we will submit the report for the manufacturer to review. The manufacturer will either approve a warranty re-selection and issue a credit for the mattress, or they will tell us that the mattress has passed the inspection and no warranty claim will be issued.

Step 5 - Reselection Process
In the case that the mattress fails the inspection and is approved for re-selection, our Warranty Support Manager will contact you directly and let you know that we have received approval to re-select and we will be able to offer you a store credit for the amount you paid for the defective mattress.
If approved, you will receive a credit for the amount that you initially paid regardless of the year.Your store credit can only be applied to the purchase of a new mattress. If you elect to apply your credit towards a more expensive mattress, you will be responsible for the balance and the state issues sales tax that applies to that balance. In the event that you select a less expensive mattress, you will not be issued a refund of the difference and the difference cannot be applied towards delivery charges, or anything else in the store. A delivery fee of $149.00 is applicable on all warranty re-selects. You may also opt to pick-up your mattress from our warehouse, scheduling is required.
Summarized Clarification:
If you paid $300.00 for the mattress, regardless of the year, you will receive a $300.00 store credit. If you prefer to use the credit on a mattress that cost $350.00 you would be responsible for the additional balance of $50.00 and state issued sales tax. If you elect to use the credit on a mattress that cost $250.00 the mattress would be covered and no refund for the difference will be issued. A delivery fee of $149.00 is charged on warranty re-selects.
